He battled back to 12-4, meaning that he at least gets his legend intro one more time.

John Parrott made a series of jokes about whether Davis wanted to give Robertson the match and get out of there, or whether he would be going all out to try and at least force the final session. Pretty rich coming from a man who once lost 18-3 in the final to some kid called Steve. Parrott lost so badly that day that had to go back and play an exhibition match, because a refund was not considered a good enough way to treat those who had come specifically for the final session.

I'd have rather he'd lost today if I had tickets for the next session, although I'm not entirely sure if you get your money back.

I've got tickets for the semi-final 1 final session on Saturday afternoon and was worried that someone like Ding or Murphy would have finished off Davis if he'd have got through with a session to spare.

Also got tickets for the second session of the Selby/O'Sulkivan - Dott/Allen semi on Friday

Just looking at some history of the World Championships and how long some of the matches in the past have been.

The final in 1952 was won by an Australian called Horace Lindrum in a best of 187 frame match.

The 1964 tournament final was the best of 49... MATCHES.

The Davis - Parrott final that was mentioned earlier was 18-3 and was only the second final to have been over with a session to spare
