Hi all

Enjoyed looking at some of your great shots on here, so I thought I'd better post a dozen of my own favourites from last year, from both the main stages and the circus/theatre fields. They are all low res by the way, so may not look at their very best!

Visit My Website

I'd certainly be up for a few pints if anyone is going to be around to meet up on the Wed or Thurs.

Cheers

Ian

Well to tell all the truth I am a bit of a happy trigger. Last year I went through 80gig of memory cards, and thats because I started taking JPGs on the last few cards. I am used to taking raw. I agree with you that the original batteries last much more but believe me I need some sort of charger or more batteries. One time there used to be a recharging stall some were around next to Kids Filed. Does any one know if it will be there around this year.

I've just upgraded to a Nikon D90 with the festival in mind.

Thinking about bringing my old Olympus, but not sure I want to haul the extra weight all the way there.

Really looking forward to shooting there. But, I've got no history of photos to share since this will be my first festival.

I'd love a chance to join a meet up if one is planned.

I'm going solo, so you folks on here are the only people that I'll "know" when I get there.

Im dunno what to do for glasto this year....

In previous years i used to take a small camera bag and my old fujifilm s7000 which was ideal. Nice and small and unobtrusive...

Now i have a massive camera bag with a canon EOS450D & an assortment of lenses plus my camcorder + batteries & mini DV tapes...

I sure as hell wanna take my camera and i sure as hell wanna take my camcorder but its gonna be a helluva chore luggin it about everywhere and it'd be pointless taking all my gear if i'ma just leave it in the lockup...

Im damned if i do and damned if i dont!

I'm well and truly stuck!

What do you guys do?

Ye we should make a gathering. I will be in UK from Tuesday morning and on the coach to Glasto Wednesday morning at 0630. Most prob the coach will be there by about 1030. So I will be having a lot of time to roam around and have that pint.

Any were is good for me once its within the Glasto fence. At what time will you people be getting there.

Hehe and regard carrying a heavy bad, mine weighs in at about 13kg. Luckily I am leaving my 5 year old daughter at home. Last year she was on my back sitting on my camera bag and that was exhausting.

Yes its true you need to be insured and leave all your extra gear at home but if you will be selling some of your work you need to perfection the contents of your bag to make it light efficient.

Red Flag bar in the Acoustic Field, if it opens a day earlier than usual.

If not then The Solidarity bar which is near the Pyramid stage as this usually opens at 11am or so on the Wed. Walk down the main drag from Ped Gate C and it's on the right just past the Cider Bus.

We'll get better info on when the bars are opening nearer the time.

edit: The Bimble Inn might be a decent shout as well, depending on opening times. Very nice place to sit and chill. Over by the Park Stage.

I've been thinking about taking my canon 30d, but I don't think I'm brave enough...I have an old analogue canon slr and seriously considering taking that.

Only just starting out in the photography field so lots to learn and must try and get more confident!!

We also have a brill old little Sony digi cam, which takes amazing shots for a compact camera, I'll definitely take that!

My website is www.capturebirmingham.co.uk! (no pics of Glasto on there, just to get the address out!)

Are you peeps taking DSLRs? I would love to take my Nikon D200 but it's pretty heavy and I would be paranoid about bashing it somewhere :P However I have bought a super new bag for it so perhaps I could give it a whirl....

Been for the last 2 years with my Panasonic FX33 which is a very trusty point-and-shoot but I would love to have the versatility of a SLR.

I'm taking my d300 which I got 6 months ago - first few years i took my d100 and sometimes it was a pain in the arse to lug it around but it was worth it...I think I'll only take it out a few times - got a 70-200mm 2.8 lens to play with and I can lock it up in the van - in my pocket I'll have a little panasonic with me for when the d300's locked up for the impromptu pissed photos that will be inevitable!!
