yeah i've been thinking the same, but the clash tent has got two big headliners so i've got no complaints.

Hi all - my 1st Rockness, having V festivaled for the last few years and Leeds last year.

My question - will there be more rockier bands announced ? as to me its very biased towards Dance/Electro - not that I'm saying seeing Leftfield isn't one of my reasons for going lol .

Maybe someone like Idlewild etc?

Its seems 2/3 v 1/3 at the moment thats all - any major acts still to be added?

I'm looking forward to the experience regardless , just interested thats all.

Last couple of years it's probably been about 60:40 in favour of Electronic/Dance over Indie/Rock.

This year seems more like 80:20.

I'm more of an indie/rock fan but I find there's a lot on offer for me: Friendly Fires, Doves, Ian Brown, The Strokes, The Maccabees, Vampire Weekend are all pretty much must sees for me over the weekend.

At first I was only going because it would be another festival since I'd only done TITP a few times before I wanted to try somewhere else. Now by reading this forum and searching youtube etc I've gotten into a lot of acts. Especially the Bloody Beetroots! Others inclue Vitalic, 2manydjs, Soulwax, Vitalic, Boys Noize and Leftfield.

So excited...

It's supposed to be that way, will always be biased towards electronic acts.

Same here, I've got other festivals to go to for Indie/Rock, at Rockness I'm there mostly for the Electronic.

Apart from Leftfield, the Sunday line up is what I'm looking forward to the most. Think I'll be bouncing off every tent in the arena!

Was the original idea of Rockness not to bring a version of Fatboy Slim's beach party to Scotland?

And therefore was it's initial aim not to be a dance festival?

Get rid of the bands and non-dance acts altogether and i'd be a happy man.

i wouldnt go if rockness didnt have any rock bands

Hmmmmm - appreciate that the majority of you want to see dance/elctro bands - but why then is it called Rockness? maybe call it Danceness lol.

Personally don't mind a few bands being there but lets be honest people who want to see bands are well catered for in Scotland and UK
