I am travelling to the site on Wednesday 9am. Road map says I'll be 46 minutes-how many hours am I likely to be stop starting if coming in from the A361?

  • 2 weeks later...

I live in Bridgwater (M5 J23) about 20 miles from the site. last year We left at 11am and joined the queue last year 19 miles from the site on the A39. I dont think that queue was caused by any motorway accidents just more and more people comming early.

I've been going since 97 and last year was the worst by far. We avoided the A39 and went all the country lanes joining the A39 the other side of street, from there it was about 2 hrs to the car park.

As i will be taking Sat nav this year im gonna put a couple alternative routes in.

As an idea it might be worth considering the following routes:

Comming on the M5:

Get off the M5 at J22 then....

Mark

Wedmore

Coxley

North Wotton

Pilton

Also if you get as far as Street on the A39 ok, which you normally can try heading for Coxbridge then East Pennard then back to the A361 when you have gotten as far as you can. This is the route my friends who work at the festival take to get in/out when its busy.
