The ultimate Glasto Walking Shoe/Trainer

Guest luckyg

Recommended Posts

I've searched through the forums before posting this for recommendations and although there are some thy shoes are now out of model, so.............

Can you recommend a really comfy walking shoe/trainer.

Think I will go down that route with some gators instead of heavy wellies if it rains.

Would be nice to have something I can use all the time too so maybe a good trainer type like Salomon would be good

any recommendations?

If it's dry I will be wearing my Salomon trail running shoes. They are very lightweight and have open breathable mesh upper to keep cool. The ones with Gore-Tex will keep you dry, but they are no where near as breathable.

I've also just bought some Smartwool PhD Trail Running Mini-Crew socks. They aren't cheap, but have lots of padding, but a thin upper to keep your feet cool.

If it's wet and muddy then I will either switch to my wellies or my new lightweight fabric Asolo Gore-Tex walking boots. I'll probably use them with some Smartwool PhD Outdor Medium Crew socks.

I've got the Salomon XA Pro 3D, they've done a few years of Glasto now. I love their Quicklace system, no more worrying about shoelaces coming undone, and are done up in an instant. I'm not sure they do that exact model anymore, I think the new version has more padding, not sure if it's as light or not.

I also have the Speedcross2, they are the most comfortable trainers I've ever had, but I've never worn them at Glasto. I'll be taking the XA Pro 3Ds again.
