Approaching Site by car West or East

Hi,

First time posting so please be gentle :P If this has been posted already i apologise.

I'm driving to the festival for a 2nd time (first in '07). I'm getting the ferry from Ireland and driving down from Holyhead to Bristol then onto Glasto. I guess i'll be heading via Shepton Mallet again.

Last time i somehow (can't recall) ended parking by and entering the East Gate on the Thursday afternoon. I was surprised how quiet it was driving in but soon found out as campsites pretty much had filled up already (people arrived much earlier than myself).

My question is, is it possible to choose which side you enter site from coming from Shepton Mallet? I presume it'll be the B3136 then onto the A361 to get to West gate. And it will be A371 > A37 to get to the East gate. Have i got this wrong? Will i have any say in which side approach from?

thanks in people

Mark

It'll all depend on the car park routing sticker colour that you are sent because as you approach the site you'll be directed to follow the relevant colour symbol into the car park areas - blue for East and all other colours for the West .

But colours do come into which car parks you want to head to all the same.

Red and Orange for West and Blue and possibly Green for East.

The yellow event signs you will meet throughout the Somerset countryside for quite a few miles outside of the festival site has these colours on them with arrows to follow for respective routes.

Make sure you know exactly which colour you want or else you may end up not where you want to be.

But the colours DO refer to respective gate entrances and routes. At least, that has always been my experience. You just need to know/remember which colour you want to head to to get to the right side of the festy.
