It started with a stick........

the mouth idea seems the most straight forward and probably the most effective, possibly making more work for you but as the general shape is already there how about a pair of 'rolling stones/mick jagger' lips with a protruding tongue which almost reaches the ground and forms the seat inside the mouth?

Loved the vid tho slightly hard to make out your words because of the mask..

I think a heart would be fine, but I also like the lips/ tongue idea and the musical note idea.

Massive thanks to everyone for your interest , ideas and comments. It really does help us keep the enthusiasm up and spurs us on to keep at it. Ste is hoping to finish sand the last couple of thrones before dark and then we can crack on with the other projects.

Cheers :-)

spent a bit more time on the acoustic pod.did some more sanding in the inside. After about 20 seconds with the 9" grinder sander with 36 grit discs (sorry if that sounds like gobbledegook!) , goggles become so coated in sawdust that you can't see anything and we end up doing it by feel.(Pinball Wizard  ) It can get quite strange when using an ipod under ear defenders. sensory deprivation/overload, especially when using my kid's ipods on shuffle.

gave up a bit early this evening as we had cold beer in the fridge. Hopefully finish last thrones early as they need oiling before tomorrow's afternoon rain or we will have to refinish sand the last 8 again.

eggything progressing. lost the heart.

Brillo feeling like Capt Cool again as he has lost his head bucket thing.

Ste suggested a different shape for the top of the egg and then giving it a massive Prince Albert. Would make lifting it with our hoist easier :D

it is taller than it looks here as it is surrounded by masses of sawdustCIMG2491.jpg

It is ash and we avoid ash like scabies as it splits so badly. we thought we might get away with using this piece as it was big, hollow and already quite dry but it seems to be behaving in the usual ashy way. as many of you probably know, ash makes the best UK grown firewood available .

Not quite sure which area of the festival its going to end up in, but it should be quite spectacular when we light it.

This damp weather is getting tiresome

we really need to do some finish sanding and oiling but the weather has to be dry for it.

not only do we want a dry festival (several tons of mud encrusted sculptures are not much fun to refinish) but we need a few days of good weather before the festival.

*to whom it may concern, this is NOT a weather thread* :D
