Pleased with Crime In Stereo, who arn't in the news post but are on the poster... will check out Your Demise and Rolo Tomassi too.

Guess there is 1 main slot on Sat and 2 on the second stage left, probs for bands on UK tours or something. Might not be though, won't be anyone good but I guess they've got to fill out the rest of the 4th in an announcement too.

Overall looks okay minus the Friday lol.

Right so now Im guessing we have if they're added up to the same as last year

Friday - f**k knows?

Saturday- 1 main / 0 second stage / 0 third stage / 5 fouth stage

Sunday - 0 main / 1 second stage / 0 third stage / 6 fourth stage

which isn't a lot and we might not get anything other than fourth stage.

Saturday second normally has 12 bands, last year was an odd one but I think a band pulled out right next to the fest and they moved Prodigy forward?

But yeah, looks like it's almost done now. Supposedly Alesana and Breathe Carolina are self confirmed which would take two of the highish slots left but they werent announced today so God knows.

Also Sunday is done as Napalm Death are the 12th second stage band.

Well looking at past years all Sat's / Sun's have had 12 bands on it except for last year - no idea if someone pulled out, if they were trying to get Prodigy to finish before Slipknot or if they just got lazy though.

I'd assume this year will be 12 too but who knows, we'll see next announcement I guess as they pad out the 4th stage with bands no one has heard of.

Strangely, this is one of the best announcements yet for me, although the clashes are somewhat of an issue again!

Napalm Death look like they'll clash with Billy Idol, and this caused me no end of grief when I chose the 'Death over Idol in 2005 - I've regretted it since. And yet, this doesn't feel like a no-brainer. I still feel like I could happily see Napalm Death again. We'll see when the times are announced.

Likewise I was looking forward to Ratt, but 3 Inches of Blood are clashing with them too! Though I suspect as a bigger 3IOB fan, my mind is made up.

Your Demise are pretty good and I'll check them out if nothing else is on. Will have to check out The Plight to see if I like them. The other bands I either don't know about, or, in the case of Rolo Tomassi, can go swivel.

However, I'm pretty content with an announcement for a change! I wish they made all the announcements like this, without all the unnecessary hype.

Im assuming that he is called James. And therefore he chose the abbreviation. He could have been a Jamie, Jimmy or a Jim Bob! And thus must have known it would make people think of that other Jim Jones.

It's a bit like when my friend Katherine Price gets annoyed when that Jordan bird is doing something horrendous to cause everyone to make up jokes about her. And I say, "you could have been a Kat or a Kathy. You chose to have people call you Katie!"

Thank god for 3IOB, I'm now getting close to a decent number of bands that I actually want to see on Sunday!

I love death metal but I don't really know any Napalm Death (are they actually dm? or grindcore?) so it'll be interesting to check them out.

Napalm Death have quite a large discography and they've evolved somewhat from when they first started out, though they've stayed true to their roots all the way.

The best of their shorter, grind era lies in the first few albums, including Scum and From Enslavement to Obliteration. Some of their later albums are crackers too, including Time Waits For No Slave, which was in my opinion one of the best albums of last year.

I've got some of their stuff inbetween as well, include The Peel Sessions and Leaders Not Followers (Part 1 and 2), both of which are essential if you get into them at all.

They were brilliant at Download 2005 and I haven't seen them since, but so long as they don't clash with Billy Idol, I reckon I'll be off to see them again. For sure they'll be one of the best bands of the weekend - and what a replacement for The Used!
