Camping from Fri

How do.

Even though i have a 5 day camping ticket me and 2 mates might not be going to Download till the Fri morn due to work (my 2 mates only have 3 day camping tickets anyway).

Doesn't Download stager the opening of the campsites? So when one fills up, they open the next one? What i'm trying to get at is if you turn up on the Fri morn, will there be any where decent to camp, or will you be forced to split up and camp away from mates in the crapist little pitch that you can find?

Also, with a 3 day ticket you can enter the camp site from 8:00am on the Fri. Does this mean that you can enter the car park, get ya stuff out and get to the campsite entrance for 8 or is it the case that you cant even enter the carpark till 8?

I have been to Download but i didnt camp.

You'll be able to get into the carpark before 8!

They do stagger the opening of the campsites. But it doesnt mean that they will have a whole field not open til the Friday! (Doesnt mean they wont either!)

If there is only 3 of you, I doubt you will have much trouble at all getting a pitch together. You may have to walk abit to find somewhere and you wont be "near the front" so to speak, but plenty of people arrive on Friday and can find somewhere to pitch up!!

In fairness though, unless you want to save petrol and parking or something, I'd be tempted to go on the Wednesday, meet up with some randoms and have some fun. After all you have paid for the 2 extra days!!! Plus you can put their tents up too!! If your feeling nice like that!!!

Last year I watched Orange open up at around midday Thursday and I think that was the last one to open. I reckon you'll find enough space to camp together though, as long as you're arriving together. If you're not, get the advance party to take & pitch all the tents, otherwise you will have no hope!
