Sounds like we could get some cracking dead-ball goals coming up with all the criticism of the ball and a lot of games being played at altitude

i havent seen one keeper (or many coaches for that matter) have a good word to say about it

SSN pissed me off no end last night with their feature on the 7 unlucky players.

Basically, comparing them favourably with those who were picked - especially Bent. Who has done the square root of f**k all in an England shirt. A stat they neglected to include.

They're lining up to slag Walcott off

'Arry's not - I've just read on Sky's TV text that he was "amazed" (I think that was the word used, but i'm not in front of the TV now) that Walcott wasn't in the squad.

Sounds like he thought Walcott should have gone and Lennon stayed at home.:lol:

(only joking).

He's spitting feathers about Dawson tho, thought Pat was taking the piss big time.

Meanwhile, has Walcott really done so badly since he hit the spotlight 4 years ago, and only aged 20? I don't reckon so. Twenty years ago there's absolutely no way he'd have ever been considered aged at just 20 .... Gazza was considered to be far too young in 1990 at 23, and only just made the squad.

I'm surprised there's a debate, he has no end product.

a rare hatrick from an England player - especially against what is (was at least) considered to be one of the better 2nd tier Euro sides rather than a non-entity - says very different. ;)

He'd give the strikers more balls in much better positions than Lennon or SWP will manage, that much I guarantee - while he was far from stunning in those two friendlies, he still delivered more and better balls than Lennon or SWP.

While that's a true stat, he still compares pretty well with all the other chosen England strikers on that basis.

Crouch only scores against the crap teams.

That's true for Rooney too (tho a long way better than Crouch) - there's a huge gulf in his scoring when you consider the opposition he scores against.

And then you have Heskey and Defoe who don't score at all - and you can see within 5 minutes on the pitch if there's a chance of a goal out of Defoe that day (whether with England or Spurs).

So while Bent's record is certainly poor, that's the case for them all. And why England won't win.

ive seen you gaurantee's up close and personal

theres a tenner with my name on it in your wallet that proves your guarantees only lose you money ;)

you were wrong then, and your very wrong now. but there will be no way to prove it, as walcott will be sunning himself on a beach while Azza tears the left backs of the world to pieces ;)

Yeah, like he did in those two friendlies, eh?:lol:

If you took your blinkers off for a moment, you'd admit that there's no way on earth Lennon deserved to go before Walcott on the basis of those two games. So it's clearly the case that Pat had already made up his mind, barring perhaps a Croatia-type stunner from Walcott.
