East Campervan Fields

Last year we brought the caravan for the first time and are doing the same this year The only downside was the size of the queue not only going into PGC but also leaving, we had to queue for over an hour to get out on the Friday night after Neil Young.

Having always parked in the West car parks in previous years we don't know the lay of the land in the East that well So my question is can we get to PGB and enter/exit here instead?

We were in E16 last year so looking at the map instead of walking through E20 and heading down the hill of death could we turn right at the road which separate E16 and E20 and follow the blue route past Big Lickle and use PGB at busy times? I am guessing that it is a quieter gate in terms of foot traffic as there are no car parks or bus stations near it.

Thanks in advance! :P

I arrived via PGB a couple of years ago, it is quite narrow (less turnstiles than the other gates by quite a bit) and we therefore queued for about an hour to move only about 50yds. I would guess when you are entering or leaving it will be quieter, but if lots of others think like you and head that way you may regret it.

Sorry that does not give you an answer. :P

A lot depends on where you end up parked. Gate B isn't really designed for a lot of public foot traffic (mainly for staff campimg outside the fence), and has been said it has less turnstiles. It does put you well out of your way as well for most things.

Where there is a queue at Gate C there will be a similar one at B.

The queues were pretty bad last year, going in and out was difficult especially in the morning and late at night. Its only going to get worse with the expansion of the campervan fields.

The really should increase the number of in and out barriers, I think there was only 4 last year
