How strict are the stewards with the size of the campervan

We're lucky enough to be borrowing a cv... but I found out today it's 7.2 or maybe 7.4 metres. We only have one campervan ticket.

The instructions say if the cv is over 7 metres you need to buy 2 van tickets

How strict are they with the size of vans? What will happen if we haven't got another ticket?

Everything was going to well... and now I'm worried :P

I'm sure the worst that could happen is they charge you for an extra campervan ticket but can't see that happening. A lot of new campervans are around that length so as long as you aren't taking the p*ss you'll be fine.

Glastonbury in comfort with a shower and toilet! :P

not been in a campervan for a few years now but in the past seen converted double decker buses and massive winnibagos but things have now obviously changed

can also remember when we were parked at almost regulation 20 feet apart as well in nice neat rows until the wet weekends of 97 and 98 well glasd of the van those weekends

knives and glassware some of the stewards and security can be a bit anal about such things so make sure you have none including beer wine bottles or there really well hidden

i know these are quite recent rules and not having been in a camper van for many years now but when we used to especially in the middle 90,s we used to get to glasto on the thursday leave on the tuesday and make our way up via a few campsites or laybys to the vw weekend at malvern that was held obviously the following weekend so not to have any glassware or kitchen knives under thoses circumstances would be plain daft

but as usual the vast minority of irresponsible idiots spoil it for the rest

I had exactly the same concern last year after renting a van over 7m, I bought a 2nd ticket just in case but it never came up when we drove in. This year the van is under 7m but I wouldn't have stressed / wasted the money if it had been 7.5, given the vans are all shapes and sizes I think you've got plausible deniability...
