Monday

This is probably covered somewhere or other, but I am far, far too lazy to look it up so there.

Anyhoo, I normally have to shoot on the Sunday, but this year I can stay all weekend. So what I'd like to know is this - when do you have to be off the site on the Monday?

I'm trying to decide whether to take it semi-easy on the Sunday and get off early on the Monday, or if there will be time for me to chill out for a bit, and get some extra kip, on the Monday morning, thus enabling me to go at Sunday balls-out.

Please help.

Cheers.

Official time is about 4PM if I remember correctly. However, I've sometimes stayed til 5 or 6 and never been forcibly ejected. It's worth staying until late afternoon to beat the rush, you can be stuck in traffic or queues for public transport for hours.

I think the official deadline is 5pm as the licence runs from 8am Weds to 5pm Monday, but I've never seen anyone being turfed off. I think by Tues they hassle anyone left to pack up and they turn the water off to most of the taps.

Straightening out on site on Monday for a few hours in roasty sunshine with a distinct feeling of 'what the feck!' is a lovely way of easing yourself back into the outside world.

You may not want to stray to far from your tent though as there's usually quite a few tatters around. They used to hold back some of the traders vehicles till 5pm to try and give the public cars a chance of exiting the site and surrounding area, so aiming to get out of the car parks by 5pm might be a plan or you may get stuck behind a convoy of trucks - staring at the back of a falafel wagon for miles of country lanes is a pain in the arse when you'd kill for one.

If your using the shuttle buses it might be worth checking the last times at the Info Points: 1 year made the last one to Bristol with minutes to spare at about 6pm, having stumbled blissfully unaware across the site as the sun began to dip.

Ahh, but then....sitting on the top deck of the bus as it wobbled off site, someone stuck on Radio Avalon (as was) Groove Armada, At The River came on, someone produced a flask of vodka and it all got a bit fuzzy from there on in. :P

Hope you have a great one.
