when to travel

this will be my first time @ glasto, i'm travelling down from glasgow. i cant make up my mind when to leave. My first plan was to leave tuesday late be down first thing on wed. Or leave same time on the wed arriving early thursday. any advice would be welcome. ta

Definately get there on Wednesday if you can. And with you coming from Glasgow I doubt you will care about the football, therefore allowing you to wander around the site and get your bearings without it being too crowded! Enjoy! :P

i usually drive from glasgow every year. (not this year tho, getting a lift in a minibus)..

leaving after midnight on the tues will still get you down there at 7am. driving over night means you avoid any traffic and get a straight run to the festie. get the tent up early and as a driver, your spangled as soon as you start as your looking at the road all night...

never done it any other way, and even if your a little tired when you get there, the sight of the festie soons picks you up :P

Before you set off try to change your Scottish notes for English ones as it will delay your service at the bar as the staff are not used to them.

it's decided, i'll leave about 10 on the tuesday night drive till about half way, stop have a couple of hours sleep. should be down early on the wed. your right it is a long way more worried about the return journey after the excesses of the weekend so we will stop off in a hotel on way back up north.
