Hotels for the Tuesday night (22nd June)

Hello all, been a lurcher to this site ever since securing tickets for the festival in 2008 and thought I'd make the dive to ask about hotels local to the Glastonbury Festival on the Tuesday night. Driving from Stoke-on-Trent with 3 friends and fancied travelling down a day earlier so I'm not too shattered for the start of the festivities on the Wednesday (and to beat the anticipated traffic). Is there anybody who has a bit of knowledge of local hotels which are (reasonably) cheap? Also seen a place in Taunton. How far is that from the festival?

Any recommendations would be greatly welcomed!

Cheers. :P

We always used to stay in one of the 2 Travelodges in Bath before getting a caravan. They are both located within walking distance of the centre, the Waterside has its own car park but is a little further out, Bath Central is very much in the centre but no parking. Then you can have a few pints up in Bath, early night, get up at 6am final shower and leave about 6.30am. Its about 30 miles away. I would guess Taunton is about the same. Its a better option than sitting in your car all night!
