Have been going to the Solstice since the late 70s through thick 'n' thin. Anyone who has never been should go for the experience. Just set off early though as despite improved parking arrangements the traffic approaching Stonehenge can be horrendous even at 2 or 3 in the morning.

Im going to the solstice at stone henge before Glastonbury this year. Any advice for a first timer? Im getting the train the Salisbury, is there any decent public transport to the site?

Im also planning on taking a rucksack and my tent so I don't need to go back up north before Glastonbury. eFestival says that big bags arn't allowed - Can you see it being a real problem?!

I received the following e-mail today from the Head Warden at Avebury:

"Sadly to say this year we were not able to negotiate the use of the large field we had for camping last year so numbers will be severely limited. The camping area we have will be open Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June and cleared by 2pm on Monday 21st. As we can only accommodate half the numbers we did last year we are suggesting that if people have and alternative, such as staying at one of the local, commercial campsites, B&B, or just visiting for the ceremonies and returning home, this would go a long way towards alleviating the pressure on the site and ensuring a safe and happy Solstice".

O Dear. Not good news at all. I predict a lot of angry and frustrated worshippers.

Is anyone going from Glastonbury to Stonehenge?

I am already on the festval site as I am working there, but wouldbe really sad to miss the solstice, so if anyone from the Glasto are drives there, please, can I come wth you? Thanks!,
