Partially repeating what vinylvictim has said...

Although Cockmill Meadow has an an entrance top and bottom, there's few people who have any need use this route, so for all intents and purposes, it's a 'closed' field.

The link at the bottom, which dvjj refers to, runs through a very small area which most/all crew. It doesn't affect 99% of people camping in the field.

Of an evening, Cockmill is probably the quietest camping on site. If you camp right by the path, there'll be a little of the trudge-trudge going past, but nothing like other places.

I'm taking my little boy for the first time this year (he'll be 14 months old). Am I mad, taking a toddler? I'm sure he'll love all the people and music (and the flags- he's currently fascinated by flags!), but I'm worrying about him being cold and tired (he's a crap sleeper at the best of times). It'll be ok, won't it?

We've got a Wonder Wagon to pull him around in, plus a backpack to put him in when we don't want to take the wagon. Though it's only just dawned on me that getting the wagon to and from the tent might be a bit of a pain.

How long does it take family camping to fill up? We'll be getting there Weds afternoon, will there be room? And how quiet is it at night? Will there be objections to us sitting outside the tent having a quiet drink or two at night once the boy is in bed?

Good thinking, altho last year the staff in Kidz Field were distributing them to all kids who needed them.

This year I'm going for the marker pen approach as our wee lad doesn't like the sticky wristbands and tends to 'accidentally' remove them!

hi all, been looking on this forum for literally years, and have finally just signed up!

Anyway, similar to the OP I have been to Glasto 7 times before, but for the first time this year I will be taking my 4 year old daughter along.

Can anyone tell me from their own experience what I absolutely won't be able to live without whilst there with her? I have an off road pushchair, will that be ok if its muddy? I will get ear defenders? What about toileting, anyone got any good suggestions for tent toilets - I am guessing that either myself or my husband may have to use it too, if the other of us is still out and my daughter is in bed, cos we can't leave her to pop to the loo when nature calls!

So many new things to think about...

I hope she loves it there as much as I do!!
