Angie182
Hi, I am from Malta and my friends and I are going to Werchter for the first time this year. We have a flight booked to Amsterdam a day earlier. However, we have no idea how to get to Werchter from there Can anyone help me out and give me tips on what we should do please? It will be highly appreciated Thanks Angele
Capzilla
You'll have to travel by train to Leuven. Within Belgium, your Werchter tickets are valid as train ticket to and from the festival, but if you have an e-ticket you'll first need to order a (free) e-train ticket for Belgium. Instructions are here. Your Werchter ticket is however not valid in Holland, so you'll also need to buy a ticket from Schiphol airport to the Holland-Belgium border (Roosendaal station), this will be € 18,40 for a single journey. You can easily get those tickets from the machines or ticket desks at Schiphol airport, no prior reservation necessary. The train journey is "only" 2.5 hours with one transfer (in Mechelen), so if you arrive a day early you should probably find a place to stay for a night in either Amsterdam or en route in The Hague, Rotterdam or Antwerp. Capzilla
Yes, you only need a train ticket to Roosendaal (actually it's in Holland, but on the border). Your Werchter tickets are already valid for the trains in Belgium. Remember that if you have an e-ticket you still need to go to the link I gave and get an e-ticket for the train, if you have a regular ticket you don't need to do that. You should indeed spend some time in a city first. The camping site at Werchter doesn't open until 8 in the morning on Thursday the 1st! So also don't forget to find a place to sleep Wednesday night. Angie182
Thanks again I went on the site to book the e-tickets to Rock Werchter and I tried typing in Roosendaal as departure station to Leuven, but it's not valid :S Sorry for bothering you again but I am confused and to make matters worse where I am from we don't have trains so when it comes to this sort of thing I am absolutely clueless Angele Edited June 3, 2010 by Angie182
Capzilla
Try "Essen", it's the first Belgium station after the border. Roosendaal is in Holland, that's probably why it doesn't show up on the Belgian ticket site. This might also mean that in Holland you'll have to get a ticket to Essen instead of Roosendaal, but I'm not sure. I don't think they'll make a big deal out of it really. Angie182
So from Schipol airport I catch a train to Essen, and stop at the next station after Roosendaal which is Antwerpen Centraal. From there I catch a train which will take me to Leuven right? From this site: https://buy.b-rail.be/eTicketing/ETicketOrd...productCode=I51the one from which I get the etickets for the train in belgium which are part of my werchter tickets, as a departing station should I put in Essen or Antwerpen Centraal? Thanks sooo much Angele

Capzilla
At your e-voucher you choose Essen as departure station. At Schiphol, you get a ticket to Essen. But you take a train to Antwerpen, which will go through Essen but doesn't stop there.

Warren Cuschieri
Hi guys, I've read all that has been discussed and found it quite helpful. I am also from malta, and unfortunately like Angele mentioned we don't have any trains, and it all confuses me so much. Is it worth going to eindovhen afterwards the festival or getting a flight from Brussels back to malta? And as to Essen, and these places are they included with the free tickets cause of the werchter ticket?
