Secret Garden Party 2010

I am going to the secret garden party with 5 of my girly friends and we were planning on taking our own food, plenty of alcohol and maybe a few sneaky g's.

I have been reading reviews from previous years and some of them say that you are not allowed to take your own alcohol and that there are police sniffer dogs at the entrance :P - does anyone know if this is true and if this is the case for this year?

Ta very muchly

they were pretty lax last year, said cant bring your own booze but wad fine really jus put itall at bottom of your bags really, as for the other, saw no dogs an no one i know had any problems, an to be fair people walk round sgp with signs selling all sorts of naughties so security's well lax.

The alcohol thing isnt a problem. They put a limit of one crate per person i think last year, i took 3 in myself.

Even if they stopped you theres no stopping you going back to the car to bring another crate in.

The sniffer dogs however, they were well and truely there, and not just for show, they had various dogs and swapped them every 10 minutes or so.

Last year we weren't stopped bringing a few crates of cider in but they were checking. Ours was on the bottom of a loaded up sack truck and quite frankly I think they couldn't be bothered checking it! :D our friends on the other hand had their cool box thoroughly checked.

We saw one security guy with a sniffer dog, think it was a private firm rather than police. The dog did however 'catch' one of the green stewards so he was getting searched by the police as we came in. It was a bit of a bugger really as slowed our queue right down as he was the guy checking our tickets! The police were also set up camp just as you get onto the site presumably speaking to anyone who had stuff found when searched.

We're going again this year, can't wait!!! Got Glasto to get excited about first though ;)

I'm seriously tempted by this, fairly local to Cambridge where i live and a friend who went last year said it was excellent.

My housemate should be working there as well.

Anyone have some quick pros/cons?

I'd be up for a meet should i end up going as i'd largely be doing it solo, unless it turns out any other mates are planning to go...
