Like Madonna, Brazilian footballers and Beyoncé, our first summer headliner of 2010 – jozif – has been given international clearance to use only his first name (and spell it funny). Plus it’s the annual Micron fancy dress hoedown with a ‘dead celebrities’ theme. The best basement in which to frolic all night after the day’s festival fun but you will have to do better than turn up as MJ to win first prize... Arrive early and it’s free entry so like with Burger King, you’ll feel like you robbed us.

jozif also boasts releases on Wolf + Lamb, Vitalic, Fear of Flying and Leftroom so you can imagine the buzz at Micron HQ when the booking was confirmed. On the basis that an artist is influenced by his record collection, it is hard to imagine how jozif gets into his house by the sound of his productions (unless he uses these clever modern computer things which apparently put all your vinyls into a mysterious little box). jozif's style is clearly created by someone uninterested in musical fads but with a supernatural knowledge of discos.

Despite still technically being a youngster on the scene, mUmU was several years in the making before launching in 2008. The efforts were well rewarded as they are now rocking both Liverpool and London, were voted fifth best clubnight by Mixmag and they will also be having it right off in Ibiza this year. Ambitious and slightly nomadic, no space is out of bounds to the mUmU team as they scour their urban landscapes for cool and quirky homes to decorate. Disused factories, warehouses and terraces are all prone to falling under mUmU’s magic spells.

Joining us for a back to back set are mUmU’s main residents, Lee Rands and Harrisôn, who have shaped the musical landscape at their club. We are not into long, tiring name dropping sessions but for a hint of their shizzle, they will be fresh from their Circoloco party with Matthias Tanzmann and Rhadoo. That’s what we’re talking about.
