I co-ordinate National Event Welfare Service (formerly RWP) & we provide welfare support at various festivals around the country including Reading, Latitude and Big Chill.

Fairly late in the day, we have been asked to provide a team at BBL, so it is a scramble to find staff as so many people cannot get time off work or are off to Glastonbury, so....

I am looking for sensible, caring & patient people with good communication skills to be part of the welfare team at this festival. Students would be welcome, especially those from appropriate courses such as social care, teaching, nursing, event management, psychology. You do need to be over 18. Previous experience is an advantage, though not a necessity as you will be briefed on site. You will need to be on site from the Sunday (13th June) afternoon for the briefing.

In return for a maximum of 6 hours work per day, you will get admission to the event, staff camping & loos etc; a hot meal each evening and reasonable travel expenses, i.e. train, petrol, coach (not a taxi from Timbuctoo!) Liftshare is encouraged. Your shifts may include night work.

It's a great opportunity to get some hands on experience & I will be happy to act as a referee for you afterwards. If the work suits you, it could also be an opportunity to become part of the team regularly at some of the other events we work at.
