Travel help for girls from South Yorkshire!

Hiya, getting excited now!

We are coming from Barnsley (south yorkshire) and are wanting to Park in the West carparks this year as we are hoping to camp in The Park area. If we follow the directions from the fine guide we would end up in the East carparks.

We have done it in the past coming from Yorkshire but I didnt drive so dont know how it was worked out. We followed the M1 down as if going to East but somehow ended up in the West carparks. The fine guide does say to follow M1 but this would put us in the East carparks. Would I be best getting on the M1 and then as we are nearing Bristol put the sat nav code in for the East carparks?

What do we do? Please help! Its the first year I am driving and as a girl am pretty crap at directions!

M1, A42, M42, M5

Then, here's the trick - come off the M5 at J23. If you let a satnav guide you off earlier, it'll lead you through Pilton and through the East car park traffic.

At what junction do I get off M1 onto A42 etc... I've never done the journey before and am easily confused!!!

Straight down the M1 just past East Midlands Airport, J23a get onto the A42 which turns into the M42, all the way to the end of that it merges with the M5, down to J23 near Burnham on Sea, follow the A39 to Glastonbury and then the A361 to the West Car Parks

Just to add , the long roadworks on the M1 before East Midlands Airport are finished , so you should

find your journey time a bit quicker.

We are leaving Wakefield about 11.00 pm Tuesday !

Thank god those roadworks have gone, they were incredible!

We're getting off from Batley sometime on Tuesday morning

Woop!!! Lets hope for a clear run then. We're setting off around 4am Wednesday morning. Cannot wait. On another note, can anyone remind us which is the services that everyone seems to call at. The atmosphere there is amazing. Love it!
