I personally think Gladiator is a brilliant film, what do you thinks terrible about it?

Its hellish boring, up its own arse, drenched in self importance. The fight scenes are poorly shot, the script is terd and not at one point did I feel any emotional attachment to any character.

I disliked Gladiator because I studied Classics. So many things about that movie are woefully incorrect, and it really annoys me. It was pretty good hack n slash fun, but the plot was terrible and completely unrealistic. If I watch a film about Rome, I want it to be believable.

It was popular mainly because it was the first high production quality Ancient era film.
