Unlike most who think Sonic The Hedgehog was the greatest game of all time and that he somehow lost his "magic" over the years and who also hold Sonic with the same silly rose-tinted view that an aged and deluded hippy has when he says all the best music comes from the 70's - I believe that Sonic The Hedgehog was NEVER any good. The whole Sonic thing was Segas desperate and cynical reaction to Super Mario, resulting in a streetwise speedy hedgehog mascot with all the forced-cool of other similar cartoon company mascots that were also created by 50 year old marketing executives trying to be "down with da kidz".

Speaking of Sonic The Hedgehog - anything designed by comittee in a board room by bean counters is of no use to the human race unless its purpose is to kill all of the bean counters in said board room.
