Types of workers passes

Hi, I worked in Ivymead Catering last year, up by the farm. We did some shifts in return for our festival tickets and access to crew camping, showers and some free meals from the people we worked for. This year they are doing the Police Catering, which from GlastoEarth and last year, is right next door to Ivymead Catering. Apparently this year they are having a different system and we won't get festival access with the work passes.

What they appear to have been told is that their crew will have to camp at the Bath and West Showground, come in daily on the blue route to a short term car park (I guess the Barren Ground one on the Fine Guide map) and then work and leave, but not be able to enter the festival site. I think the guy said "pink passes" if that means anything to anybody.

We have tickets anyway, so we don't have to work, but we are now weighing up whether it is worth it to work up there just for access to crew showers (we camp in Kidney Mead with our non-working mates anyway) and some free food. The other key benefit last year was early access. I guess this may still be possible with passes that won't allow access during the festival, but may allow access prior to the "lockdown" late on Tuesday evening. Last year we got in about 9pm on Tuesday and were able to very leisurely set up our camp. If "pink passes" allowed us to do that it would be worth working a couple of shifts for.

I have asked the guy we are working for but this will only be his second year doing this kind of work, so it is all quite new to him, and I guess it is worth his while anyway, without the festival as a "benefit".

Has anybody else got this situation or any comments or advice? Thanks for reading, cheers, NS

It sounds like you already know the answer, that the type of work doesn't offer festival access. There are a few companies who work outside the fence and may not get festival access. You need to check with the company that you are working for to get a definitive answer on what they offer.
