Kids Waterproof Trousers

I was thinking of getting my 3-year old some waterproof trousers for over his clothes in case of bad weather! :O

My Boyf thinks it is a waste of money...He reckons that shorts/combats/jeans with wellies will be fine!

He says if it did get muddy..the waterproofs would be plastered and then he wouldn't wear them again anyway and if it gets that bad he will have to stay in pushchair (i think thats a bit mean!) <_<

Oh! What to do?! Don't want to take an excessive choice of clothing like I normally do on hols for him but don't want him running out of stuff due to the weather/mud either!!

Saying all this...It WILL be sunny and dry!!!! :D

I ordered some regatta waterproof trousers off ebay yesterday for my daughter for £5. They haven't arrived yet, so have no idea what they are like - not very helpful is it! I am like you though, I think they are important, my husband doesn't. My daughter is likely to resist wearing them with enormous tantrums as she is a very girly girl but I am taking them anyway!!!! I have been there in very muddy years before and see what your hubby means about keeping him in the pushchair, but you can't keep a child in the pushchair all weekend! Get some, and even if you don't use them at glasto, they will come in very handy next winter when the snow comes!!!

Ewan has been coming to Glastonbury with us since he was 5 he will be ten while we are at the festival this year, he has had new waterproof trousers and jacket every year, this means,

  1. We don't have to worry about him getting muddy
  2. He can play as he likes without us shouting be careful, don't get too wet...
  3. He has waterproofs for all other days out over the year, those wet rides at Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Chessington, Legoland are all stress free with no moans of, I'm wet!

Each night we get back to the tent, Ewan pulls off his waterproofs and one of us runs to the sinks and rinses them off, the water runs off them so whilst not pristine they are clean enough for the next day and the next and the next...Get them they will not (I can assure you) be a waste of money, nor will your little boy get a cold/chill due to damp clothing (TBH Your BF sounds a bit selfish to think that way...)

Probably the best items we have bought for the girls was waterproof coat + trouser set out of Aldi's a few years ago they lasted a couple of years each child - washed amazingly well, were warm and best of all kept the kids dry - my youngest will still be wearing a set 3 years in (hand me down) but what does she care she is at Glasto and having the time of her life.

BTW seperates are best don't go and get one's with braces or all in ones - cr*p for going to the loo ;)
