Trip insurance for Glasto/ festivals

Thought i'd share this with the forum and pick your brains also!

Just called a couple of travel insurance agencies to cover glastonbury and some other festivals this summer, as I have quite a lot of travel involved (trains, flights and buses from Dundee to Glasto for example) and asked what the score was with travel insurance.

The answer seemed to be that generally you need to have 2 nights 'pre-booked' accomodation to be covered, but i managed to convince one chap that paying for my ticket (which includes camping) should be valid, and he agreed. So if you have paid for a ticket you should be able to get cover.

HOWEVER. I am working at Glasto and therefore have not paid for a ticket, so cant get cover for the trip. I'll prob just go back to the airline and add their flight insurance on, but might be useful for others to know!

But if anyone knows of a different 'trip' policy that would go the whole hog, i'd be interested to know Cheers

Are you concerned about contents? If so check your household contents covers you for valuables outside the home. Last year I lost/had nicked/too smashed to remember my HD video camera. I was a bit gutted but got it back on my contents policy. All I would advise is if you lose anything then report it at the lost property area near the main farm house ( but go early one day as it gets rammed). I wasn't really expecting it to be hande in but the report they give you was 'official' enough for my insurer to pay out when I got home.
