It's slower! Also offends my eyes a bit - not only is it difficult to see, it's also a bit too much of a corporate feel for a festival site full of hippies and wronguns. What's with all the green arrows triangles next to everything? Lose them!

I understand some of this may just be teething problems and just some refinement is required.

So everyone keeps saying, but which isn't actually correct outside of a difference that's too small to perceive.

The current slowness is the result of the traffic the site is getting at the moment, and not of the forums change.

Could you please give me the full URL of where you're seeing this?

Could you also please say what browser and version of browser you're using, and what operating system (windows, mac, etc)?

There are a number of mostly minor issues that are being addressed as quickly as it's possible to address them.

The green triangles are all in the bit to the left with teh avatar and user details on. there's one next to the avatar, one next to the row of efests men, one next to each of Groups/Posts/Joined.

Also, I'm using the reply at the bottom of the page and I can't see a lot of what I'm typing as the smilies list is hanging over the text box. So this is probably littered with typos/missed punctuation.

I'm using IE8 at work at the moment and i'm getting a Javascript error on every tab I open and after every link I click on.

This is a long-standing intermittent issue, caused by a combination of things but specific to IE and Microsoft's non-standard implementation of javascript, and nothing to at all to do with the forums having been upgraded.

It's a problem that's been fixed on occasions in the past, only to re-occur when Microsoft have issued IE &/or windows updates. Someone is looking into the issue again today, and hopefully it'll be resolved again.

On the other hand i'm running Google Chrome at home and the whole site works like a dream. I actually like the new layout now i'm starting to get used to it too. Well done that man!

I thought I'd give it few days before I commented on it. And to be honest, I don't really like it. Its all just a bit bloated and has a bit too much excess fat, in my opinion. That's not to say its the end of the world and I can't deal with it, I just prefer the last forum layout. For some reason my eyes and brain were able to process what i was seeing more easily.

I like the 'Fast Reply' that sits at the bottom of the page though. Nice touch.

thanks - I'll get this looked at and sorted - I hope that by first thing Friday morning many of the issues like this will have been resolved, in a temporary manner if not the finished article.

I'm typing this in that box (having already copied your post text) and not seering the same problem.

When you say "smilies list", I presume you mean emoticons (it should say 'emoticons' above them all, if what's happening is like I think)?

Are you getting the full editor for that box (with lots of buttons for text formatting, links, etc), or is it a more basic edit box?

If the full editor, what happens when you click on the smiley button within that editor?

Which browser and version are you using, and which operating system and version?

I'm getting the green arrows too, they're popping next to replies and views in the sub section aswell.

I thought they were meant to be there though as as some don't have the arrows next to them, figured it was some kind of new/unchecked visual reminder thing.

I've not ever seen them.

So whether they were something the guy who did the skin knows are there or not I don't know. It's possible he's meant them to be there, but it's possible he doesn't know that they are, just like me.

a tweak has just been made on the server set-up, which appears to have speeded things up a fair amount - fingers crossed that it's actually of the amount of benefit it's looking like it is right now.

A page one third full of adverts? The forums now look like they're made for iPhones and not computers.

And I don't see any green arrows using Safari. Not in lists or next to avatars.

New skin looks much better than the previous one though, shame the adverts have taken over.

no, it's not up and running. At the moment I haven't decided how it'll be accessed.

To help me get a grasp of things to know the best way to go, could you please tell me which mobile device are you using, and what is it about things as they are at the mo which makes you so desperate for it?
