Tent for storage

I've searched the forums, but haven't come up with an answer.

My and my mate are coming to Glastonbury. We each have a 2 man tent.

He has now got another small tent, which he has suggested we can use for storage (rucksacks, beer, food, etc).

What do you guys think? Is having an extra tent just for storage frowned upon, or will it be ok?

personally i'd rather keep my stuff in my tent - may be a little squashed, but it's less likely to get nicked if i'm sleeping on it. rucksacks and beer are just too easy to pick up.

Yeah - will be fine taking two small tents, much better than some of the huge ones you see two people rattling around in!

But yes, i would be worried about leaving my stuff totally unattended like that - but then again, I've been very luck and never had anything nicked.

We always do this and touch wood haven't had a problem, I wouldn't leave any valubles in it though.

I'd have said not cool - the site gets pretty packed, and a tent just for storage seems kind of excessive (how much stuff are you bringing!!). But it looks like I may be in the minority - and I'm of the opinion that a four-or-five man tent for two people is excessive, which based on some tents on site also looks like a minority opinion! So looks like you can safely ignore me

You might want to consider stashing stuff like crates of beer, empty rucksacks etc in the lockups? That way you won't have to take an extra tent and you'll know your stuff is safe as houses.
