Arriving 7am Wednesday,

I am planning on driving from Exeter and arriving on site ( West Car Parks, red /yellow route) about 7AM on Wednesday morning

From past experience, can anyone tell me how busy it was around that time last year?

I really, really, don't want to have to park miles away as I am on my own have a lot of stuff to carry.

no one will be able to tell you how busy it will be as the car parks have never opened before 8am before! We arrived on the other side of the site about 7 last year and queued for about an hour to get in, but like i said its all different this year!

I realise it is different from last year, but if you queued for an hr around that time last year i would imagine it will be similar this year.

Yeah, impossible to say, last year gates didn't open until later, but I sailed in at 12noon - where as other friends ear trapped for hours waiting.

You would hope that anyone who wants to hit the early gates (8am) would be driving and staying overnight - but if the weather does turn i bet a lot will want one last night in a soft warm homely bed!

I am in two minds - leave in the evening but be worn out from work, or grab a few hours kip but risk a possible early morning crush?

As for stuff - simple! Pack two bags - one with tent, sleeping bag, 1 set of clothes and a few drinks - the other with everything else. Then charge along to your chosen camping spot, all lightly loaded and happy - set up camp, have a beer, wave at the neighbours and then grab your stuff any time in the next 48 hours, most likely (if you are me) when you next get a thirst on!
