ampersand
They've not counted on the fact that people from Glasgow start drinking way before 12 noon.
Kowalski
Yet again Richard Keys showing his ignorance. Trying to make an amusing quip about Sir Alex's playing career and his apparent lack of goals - Keys needs to check some facts before coming out with some of his shite. Sky seem to know f**k all about anything other than the EPL.

Snufflebutt
I agree there should be playoffs to give a extra first division team a chance at the SPL. But not by adding more teams in. The SPL and Scottish football generally isnt in that bad a state anyway. It just sells newspapers to say that Scottish football is shit. More money would make the SPL better quality. But where would this money come from?
ampersand
playoff is essential. but then a split is so ridiculous that i think you might as well kill two birds. dundee, dunfermline, ross county and the likes can easily compete with the lower spl clubs to justify an expansion. but we've been through this before, celtic won't sacrifice a second visit from rangers and vice versa. and these 1st division clubs coming in aren't going to have sky and espn throwing money at us. tis a shitter. ampersand
i'm more worried about the domestic side of it. make it more entertaining for us, different. and make our set up less laughable where 6th place can't finish with less points than 7th. Snufflebutt
The only way to make it more entertaining involves more money, which isnt around at the moment. The split doesnt make the set-up laughable at all. The SPL split has inspired a few league reconstructions throughout Europe - like in Holland and Wales. In the SPL, it solves an insurmountable problem that literally no other league set-up could solve. Its pretty obvious why 7th can finish with more points than 6th. The team finishing 6th is playing matches againt the OF. Edited September 18, 2010 by Snufflebutt
ampersand
yeah i understand that 7th place has easier fixtures than 6th. but it also means that celtic might play at tynecastle 3 times which is unfair. it's a stupid system. anyway, accies bottom of the league and livi clear by 3 points. what i like to see

minute5072
3 points on the board. Phew. Hope Jackson's injury isnt too serious, he's only on a 6 month contract and if its something serious I cant see us giving him another 6, especially considering we have a million strikers as is. ampersand
pressley says "Clubs cannot afford to sign these players, they can only develop them. In order to do that, there has to be league reconstruction."
OneLittleFish
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/9017317.stm Interesting - is it acceptable for a set of supporters to boo their team? I'd have to say, his record in charge of our team is f**king shocking - I think the fans are booing the manager rather than the team. Interestingly amongst the fans messageboards, the majority are calling for him to go, one way or another, and much more so since he made the comments. He bizarrely accused the fans of "having too high expectations" which is fairly shocking for a club with the players we do have. There's strong rumours that he called McBride and Miller into the managers office and told them to decide between them who wants to be captain. Clueless individual. minute5072
Comfortable win tonight Confident we will take something off united at the weekend, They're all over the shop and we seem to be getting a settled defence finally this season (IMO probably our best 4 defenders as well) Our management team have signed extended contracts as well If anything it means we'll be able to ask more when they get poached
