Pedestrian Gate A

Is Pedestrian Gate A just for the coach station, hospitality parking etc or can you use it if you're parked in the West car parks too?

Just wondering as we'll be parking in the West car parks cos we're staying just 1/2 mile down the road from the Orange entrance but want to camp in Hitchin Hill & thought gate A might be a better route to take (looks a little confusing from gate D!).

Think gate A is the only entrance I've never used at Glastonbury!

Getting to the gate might be a problem but that is more due to the roads and coaches backing up, but at the actual gate itself, I don't see a problem.

They just want to see you have a legitimate ticket, ask you if you have any glass on you, maybe search you but generally the gate staff I have found to be cheery and helpful (a cheery "wotcha" normally disarms anyone who looks as if they are having a hard time of it). I don't think there is as way to tell if you came by National express coach, coach from castle carey rail station or any other method by your ticket. I think even the coach and ticket combos use a seperate ticket for the coach!

Quite a few of the western parking now looks to be the other side of the road, and I imagine that if you end up parking there, the easiest way in will be to walk up the road to gate A - does that sound right?

I have parked in west before and used gate A, there were a few mesh fences in the way, but there were gaps in them so dont see it being a problem.

I am planning on using Ped A, coming in from Higher Westholme Road.

Failing that, it will be Ped D
