Getting to the west car parks from the East

I have the opposite question to a previous poster. We are staying overnight in Frome so will be heading in from the East but really want the west car parks. Google maps has us going right along the A361 will this be ok or will we end up in the east car parks before we get far enough west.

Any help appreciated!

If you're travelling from Frome then you need to take the A361 out of Frome, when you get to Shepton Mallet you will have to turn left at a set of traffic lights, then straight across the 'sheep' roundabout, right at the next roundabout then right turn just after the bend in the road. You are on course for the West car parks.

However, if you are travelling down on Wednesday be prepared for a huge wait it was blocked for miles and miles last year because everyone was travelling down then! Make sure you have loads of water & snacks in the car.

Can you turn right down the A361 from Shepton and through Pilton? Not so sure, thought that was on the list of temporary road closures. May be worth having a plan B which takes you from Shepton to Wells and then round that way
