First timer here - boyf has finally been persuaded to go!

Looks like I'll be in New York on holiday when 2011 tickets go onsale.

Obviously will have to take laptop and try on-line (at 5am!!!)

Just wanted to ask if I could still phone as well?

also - do tickets sell out on the first day?

Ideally you need to be on the phone and connected to the website simultaneously from just before the tickets go on sale. Expect the phone line to be engaged most of the time and the website to be congested. On the first day of the sale, I waited only to find that all tickets had been sold out by evening. Did managed to get tickets on the resale in April as I was better prepared. This is a back up option.

Of course we don't know the actual date tickets go on sale yet, just speculation based on last year that it will be October. Wait & see.

I tried the April re-sale last year from Florida. 4am was a pain, but I did eventually get through. By that point it was only coach tickets left, but that was OK for the person I was buying for.

It is no more difficult than doing it from the UK. Don't know about the phone though. Didn't try that way.

My problem is that if the sale is on the 3rd. I will be Stromness on a diving trip. Don't know what the internet is like up there, but I am just a bit concerned. Doubly unfortunate is that 3 of the 4 people I plan to go with will be on the same trip. And based on past experience the 4th person is very unreliable.

Oh well. I will sort it out somehow. I managed last year :-)
