Taxi to Bramham Park?

I'm having trouble finding transport to Leeds fest. I don't drive and no relatives can take me so I need to find the cheapest way of getting there (getting back is no problem as I've arranged a lift back). My mate says he'll drive me but i'll have to pay his petrol money which (including all the queueing and stop/starting) will set me back about 30 quid. I've also signed up for a liftshare service but I'm not holding my breath. I've got an earlybird ticket which means I could get a coach/megabus into Leeds but not directly to the festival.

Does anyone have any info on how much a taxi costs from Leeds city centre to Bramham? Do they queue up like the rest of the cars or do they have a section especially for taxis? Do they make you get out and walk?? :S

Alternatively, does anyone have any information about the shuttle bus that runs to Bramham and whether it runs on the wednesday?

Any help will be much appreciated. Megabus is looking like the cheapest option to me at the moment (Sheffield to Leeds Corn Exchange: £3.50!).

Taxis from the train station are £25 and theres a relatively short queue for them just outside the train station

Last year I went on my own and found a few other people at the station who could split the cost so we got it for £6.50 each

They do have a direct entrance as well so you get straight to the festival without queueing, getting in at the gate next y=to yellow campsite

Hope that helps :)

What he said. And the shuttle bus does run on Wednesday. Basically, just get to the train station, and you'll be able to get there relatively cheap one way or another.

Im sure my taxi didnt cost £25. I thought it was abut half that. Either way, if you look out for a taxi with an empty seat, it'll be cheap enough.

Cheers, all. So does the shuttle bus pick you up from the entrance to the train station or is it signposted to pick you up from elsewhere? And do you have to book in advance or just pay your £8 when you get on board? Are they frequent?

Soz for all the questions, just trying to sort meself out ;)

The bus pick up point is just around from the station, about a five minute walk but you'll probably see plenty of folk who look like they're on the way to the festival so just follow them. There will probably be a queue but it moves quite quick. there's a ticket booth at the front of the queue that you get your tickets from.

Any other questions just ask.:)

Cheers again all, settled on train (no luggage restriction just incase i take more beer than I predicted) followed by shuttle bus.

One final question (I'm looking at you, rexclark ;) )...

Does anyone know whereabouts the shuttle bus drops you off? I'm praying it's near Temple gate, favourite camping spot is near that gate and it'd be a right mission to walk there from any other gate.
