I've been trying to pre-guess this my almost certain list is The xx, These New Puritans, Cate Le Bon, Pulled Apart By Horses, Example, Noah and the Whale, Mumford & Sons, Muse and Gorillaz.

Who do you think will make the list next week?

Great to see I am kloot nominated even though the albums only been out a couple if weeks, I'd love to see them win it.

Maybe this nomination will give them the success they deserve

I would be over the moon if Kloot won. And I so, so hope they do.

I suppose that if nothing else, being nominated will hopefully give them that little bit more attention that they richly deserve.

What is strange about the nominations is that I've heard (or got) them all - usually when they are announced there's half a dozen I have to go and find out about not this year - I can't decide if this is because I've got my finger better on the pulse or that the niminations are less left field this year.

Got £10 on Paul Weller to win at 18/1.

Don't like him, but seeing as how in the past winners who've been criticised are often followed by the opposite - i.e. going from a small selling artist to the favourite or biggest selling (i.e. Antony & The Johnsons to Arctic Monkeys), he fits the bill well.

She's 9/1 at the moment with Pat Power.

She was nominated last year and didnt win. I have a suspicion that people might view the two records as one period of sustained brilliance and reward it.

I'm gonna throw 20 notes on her to win it tonight. Besides - its the best record of the year for me.

For anyone who didn't know, Amazon are selling DRM-free downloads of each of the Mercury nominated albums for only £3! There's some bargains there :D

Clearly a leak somewhere along the line. One wonders will the fact that theres been some kind of a leak effect the result?

I always thought it was between Marling and The XX. Both records are better than Wellers. Still have €20 on Marling at 6/1.
