i need to know ASAP the definate decision about bring dogs to the festival.

the answer in the FAQ is stupidly vague saying at the festi they'll let a limited number in.

and i dunno if my memory is right but i thought on the ticket ordering page it said you can bring 2 dogs per person.

there's no contact number so i've just emailed them. can anybody on here please tell me what to do??? i'm leaving tomorrow.

Actually: from the official site,

we love your four legged friend but at present we are not allowed dogs onsite. closer to the event wewill hopefully be able to grant a limited number of dogs entry to the festival. these will need to be registered and tagged at the gate and also cleaned up after. bags will be provided.

havent seen anything since though

Just thought I'd share this with you all.....I emailed the team before Xmas to ask about dogs on site...I took both my boys last year and we had a great time. They replied that they would be registering dogs on entry to try and raise the responsibility of owners.

When I arrived on site this year they were a bit disorganised, however, the dogs were welcome and were both given bands for their collars which had my mobile number written on. I'm lucky that I have a large van, so when things get a bit racy in the evenings, I take them back to the van for dinner and bed, then I head back out and party 'til dawn.

It pays to be organised, hopefully they'll allow dogs again next year....aside from the lack of organisation, this really is a great fessie.

Maybe the one thing about SGP i didn't like. Too many dogs!

I personlly don't want that many dogs at a festival, I think dog owners presume everyone likes dogs and are happy to put up with them, when in fact a lot of people don't like them at all. Plus I think festivals are a shit place for dogs to be, very crowded and noisey. But each to their own I suppose. If the festival wants them there then nowt I can do about it apart from put up with them.

I'm hugely surprised that the licence allows dogs. Just about all other licences specifically exclude dogs, citing the health risk from their poo.

There seems to be an awful of lot of strange things go on around SGP, things that other festivals simply couldn't get away with. Given that the fest is run by the landowner (or his family), who I understand comes from what might be termed 'posh stock', I'm starting to think that there might be some funny handshakes or the like taking place. ;)
