rachface
So on the saturday at leeds i.e the day Blink 182 play, I shall be at the main stage all day from when arena opens in order to make sure I get the front row for blink 182. Thing is, of the bands on the main stage that are playing, I don't know many songs and would like to ask you all to recommend me songs that they are likely to sing so that il know some of them, i may even really like them cheers. ap3311
You won't need to be there all day. As long as you get there before Paramore are on you'll be OK, loads of people will leave the mainstage after Weezer. Having said that I'll probably be at there most of the day as well. Dance stage isn't really my thing and the NME is particularly weak that day. Limp Bizkit - Rollin', Break Stuff, My Generation Thrice - Red Sky, Image of the Invisible Cypress Hill - Hits from the Bong, Insane in the Brain Weezer - Hash Pipe, Buddy Holly, Island in the Sun Paramore - Misery Business
rexclark
Limp Bizkit. Unmissable.
Vieuphoria
The only ones you really have to worry about missing are Weezer. but Cypress Hill will be great too. Those 2 and you'll be fine
Chr!s
Motion City - Future Freaks me Out, My Fav Accident, Lets Get f**ked up and Die King Blues - Mr Music Man, Taking Over, Under the Fog/We Aint Never Done, I Got Love Weezer - My Name Is Jonas, Sweater Song, Keep Fishin, Island In The Sun

kev1664
Experience from Leeds Its a strange one because it always fills up about 3rd band from the top. But with the quality(or should I say popularity) of acts that have been booked to play that day I think its gonna be mega busy from Limp Bizkit all the way through. Mind you if you get there when Weezer's set finishes you will get the mass exedous for piss and pints and you should be able to walk near to the front, then you will only have to be there for 3 hours. When Paramore come on jump with the crowd and push forward and you'll be at the front quite quickly with lots of time for Blink 182. The only downside of being at the front during the headliners is its a bit of a crush, Prodigy (2nd from top) last year was the biggest crush of the weekend, quite scary. Also if you wanna catch new bands and stuff I wouldnt limit yourself to the one stage, especially the main stage, as sound quality is generally much poorer than the other stages that are in tents. On the main stage the lower down acts tend to have a poorer sound due to their lack of good equipment, and if its windy that plays a major part in the sound quality too, also bands on the other stages often have more to prove and will produce a better set. Saying that there are a load of good bands on the Blink 182 day.... Edited August 9, 2010 by kev1664
rexclark
I've never really got the need to be as far down the front, I prefer a bit of space so I can have a drink and a dance.
kingjamma
A bit of advice I can give is don't go for dead centre on the barrier but slightly to one of the sides. I've been front barrier for quite a few big things and to the side is a bit calmer and easy on the body due to pushing. I was front barrier all day when Metallica headlined in '08 and I was dead centre, as the day went on the crush got more and more until Metallica hit the stage. At one point I found it very unbearable and actually was struggling to see the band at times due to nearly being pushed over the barrier and crowd surfers, and I'm quite a big, strong guy. So if you want to be at the front be prepared for it to be a bit unbearable at times.

theramm
Why get to the front & wait? I'm assuming this is your first time? There's absolutely no need, you'll get a decent spot if you head down towards the end of Paramore's set. It's not the same as at a gig & people are willing to endure support ats to get a good spot, most people there will have a different act they want to get a good spot. Let the LB fans get a good spot for Limp, the Weezer fans get a good spot for Weezer & so on. If you're willing to take up a decent spot & wach a band you don't even like (or from judging by your post) or are even familiar with it's selfish & makes for a shit atmos at the front for the band playing & the people who may be fans of that particular act.
