reading this thread out of boredeon, so what's the chat, evening meals?

so those of you who actually manage to have dinner with your family, do you all finish work at the same time and eat the same food? it's not really that easy..

it's still important to spend time with your family when the kids are over 16. the point i'm making is that it isn't that easy to have family meals.. you just need to spend time with them whenever it's possible.

if we're talking about children, then obviously the aren't working. but the parents might be, they might have to work jobs with akward shifts to make enough money to provide for their family. when i was at primary school, i used to go to my grans for dinner every day cause my mum and dad both worked. by the time they took me home, it was nearly bed time. it hasn't made us any less close. we are a very close family. if anything, i appreciate and respect them for going out and working hard becuase it couldn't have been easy for them to leave me and my brother.

i agree with you that it is important to spend time with your family, but i think the idea of a family meal, especially during the week, is a bit old fashioned - like a lot of your views on things. that's not meant as an insult, it's just that maybe things aren't as easy as you think they are.
