Ed209
By this afternoon 700 new members have joined the Labour Party. Good reflection on Ed's popularity.
Pogues Mcgogues
That's no indicator on his popularity without knowing how many have left .... we already know of one.
Ed209
Doubt many. It's very rare for someone to join for the reasons oaf did.
Pogues Mcgogues
what were oaf's reasons for joining? To have the membership card in his wallet?
Ed209
To vote for David Miliband and be in a David Miliband Party. He only wanted David Miliband and thought by joining he could be part of that. It didn't happen. He's leaving. Kowalski
So, Labour back to the bad old days of being lead by the Unions. Unelectable for next 10 years IMHO.

sifi
I'm glad to see that Ed Miliband is the new leader. Hopefully the Labour party will revert to moderate socialism that it used to be before Blair changed it into the behemoth that it became and all the closet Tories will f**k off. oafc0000
Wondering how long Ed will last... Won by 1% via Union support... Most members wanted David... Most MPs wanted David... His position is pretty weak isn't it...

oafc0000
I think traditionally the Labour party tend to stick with their leaders don't they, once they get in? Kinnock had a fair few cracks of the whip, Harold Wilson (you might want to wiki him) lost elections and then got re-elected, the toppling of Blair went on for years. He'll get at least one election campaign. They aren't the Tories who'll get rid as soon as the polls look bad

RABun
I can't watch it but i picked this bit out of the live news feed The Labour leader says the new generation wants to change the economy because there is more to life than the bottom line, change government because it can be stifling, change foreign policy so it is driven by values not alliances

Labour lead the polls for the first time since 2007!
