  1. 1. Who should lead Labour

Yeah cause students wouldn't have much experience of that. And please quote me where I said I love careerism or that I wanted a student to become Labour leader (where the hell did the student thing even come from anyone?). Try and analyse what people read before making snipey little comments cause you lack sleep.

I think young Pogo's been drinking...

I did enjoy his quote about Abbott being his perfect candidate in an ideal world though, closely followed by an admission that he was going to vote for someone entirely different. Not quite in keeping with his protestations about how he's bringing about change from within. How very New Labour!

Well if you aren't going to vote for Abbot, you're a bit stuffed really. Burnham is the one least like the other three (beyond being a white middle class 40 something male who is Oxbridge educated), but the other three are all career politicians with no experience outside of it. And all three are where they are entirely because of who they are and who they know and who they are related to.

Stopping the BNP in Durham.

The Fairtrade campaign which is on its way to making all affiliated university unions to be 100% fairtrade on hot drinks.

The NUS proposed a graduate tax and ohhh look, graduate tax is on the agenda. Done last year under Wes Streeting's presidency, who was a Labour Student and very good public speaker.

At what point do any of these things give you the experience to run the country? And the last one will only happen if rich people have an opt out to pay up front and thus not pay an increased level of tax.

eta

And what on earth do they have to do with improving the lot of students, the substancive purpose of the NUS?

I know there was a curve after the election. As I previously said though, I think it's more or less levelled off, having increased after the election, and the need now is to keep on that increase. It would make sense that the website crashing then, as it wouldn't have been made to cope with the expected demands.
