Help, stupid question!

Technically you're not allowed to camp at all, no chance you can camp the night before as they won't let you on the site. Once they've let you on site (on the day u have a ticket for) you can just wander into the campsite and no-one is likely to check you. So in practice you can camp if you can find some space, however, may look a bit suspicious if you're walking in with a day ticket holding a sleeping bag and tent...

I suppose we could say we're only coming in for a bit then going to camp somewhere else after the festival

if you're bringing in stuff like tents and sleeping bags, you could lie and say you have friends who have weekend tickets but their stuff got trashed so you're bringing them new stuff. people on the wristband exchanges aren't gonna refuse you entry, it's just making sure you don't get caught once you leave the arena after the bands have finished

i just meant you might get caught entering the campsites once you leave the arena after the bands have finished. the chances are very slim, but i worked at Latitude with oxfam and my job on one of the nights was to look out for day ticket wristbands entering the campsites. just cover it up when you leave the arena and you'll be fine
