Reading 2011 line up prediction

I seriously dread the crowd the festival will have if they have Kasabian play....

I can't see Kasabian headlining next year personally, they have come to the end of their touring and their album has been out for a while, unless they do something pretty special before next year I can't see it. But that could just be me being bias as I wouldnt want them here.

Ah good, glad they aren't playing. Its not that I dont like them, Ive seen them live and they were quality, but the crowd they would attract would just be too bad and i'd rather some epic band like The Cure or Strokes playing instead

Kasabian said they wouldn't be touring for a while at V anyway, so i reckon they are ruled out.

The point about SGs influence is valid, I'm not doubting their size or that they would sell out the o2 (worst venue in the country IMO, but that's another argument), just whether or not they have enough appeal to headline the festival. What I would say is that with GnR and Arcade Fire being pretty unexpected, it makes next year very very difficult to predict. I've mentioned Kaiser Chiefs before as a possible leftfield selection, and I think there's a chance of either Green Day or Muse. My prediction would be three out of My Chemical Romance, The Strokes and the three I mentioned before.

The Cure, Muse and System of a Down would be an unbelievable weekend. 2 hours go to the Cure, because they are awesome. Possibly fit the strokes sub-headlining Muse, MCR under the Cure and QOTSA under System.

That would be Epic.

They left early because they didnt appreciate the musical genius of band, personally i'd love them to headline Leeds/Reading.

I can't see SOAD or Soundgarden playing Reading & Leeds next year. I think they'll most probably go to Download, but it would be great if SOAD did as I'm definitly gonna try and go to next years.

I think White Stripes would reaallllllly headline if they played. Maybe swap them with Strokes perhaps. Any form of Jack White is welcome for me though! Feeder would probably be lower as well, they'd be so good though.

the good thing about if Soundgarden headlined would mean that there is less chance of MCR headlining

surely Melvin Benn is clever enough not to book them, after the predictions of them headlining were around last year and the responses they got he wont

Soundgarden could headline, but I'd think they'd go for Download of Sonisphere.

I'd Much prefer on the weekend, fri-sun: SOAD subbed by QOTSA, Muse subbed by The Strokes and The Cure subbed by MCR. Although MCR are only there because they fit on tha day and were headlining this year ubtil they pulled out.
