Friday

Blood or Whiskey 2/10- Honestly the worst band I've ever seen live. Spared from a 0 purely for being unintentionally hilarious.

Surfer Blood 6.5/10

Emo Phillips 7/10- Very strange, but some great one liners.

Stephen K Amos 7/10

Gogol Bordello 7/10

Biffy Clyro 5/10

Queens of the Stone Age 8/10

Guns and Roses 0/10- Was difficult enough to convince anyone to watch them even before they were an hour late. We had long given up by then. Looked alright on Tv just now though, so who knows.

LCD Soundsystem 7/10

Saturday

Modest Mouse 5/10- So disappointing.

The Maccabees 6/10- Only saw a tiny bit

Dizzee Rascal 3/10

The Libertines 8/10

Arcade Fire 10/10- Very rarely give anything a 10, but they're a very worthy exception.

Sunday

Wild Beasts 7/10

Limp Bizkit 7/10

Cypress Hill 8/10- Great fun, despite not knowing much of their stuff. High as a kite for the duration.

Weezer 9/10

Blink 182 7/10- If they'd kept up the pace of the first half hour, they'd be closer to a 9, but the set flagged a bit in the second half.

Friday:

A Day To Remember 2/10 - Shite.

Billy Talent 6/10 - Too early in the day, the crowd were shit.

Gogol Bordello 8/10 - Not as good as the Rage Factor. Still enjoyed them though.

NOFX 7/10 - Didn't really "get" them. Mildly amusing I suppose, glad I went.

Lostprophets 6/10 - Very disappointed, could have been so much more. Last Train Home and Rooftops were good but that's about it.

QOTSA 10/10 - One word. Incredible!

GnR 9/10 - Musically speaking I thought they were excellent.

Saturday:

Rolo Tomassi 7/10 - Pretty good. I'll be checking them out again.

Gaslight Anthem 5/10 - Don't see what all the fuss is about really.

Modest Mouse 6/10 - Good music to chill to, shame Johnny Marr didn't come out.

Trash Talk 2/10 - Go and see a random band they said... Dear God where on earth did these people crawl out from? Stage invasions and throwing bins does not a good set make.

The Cribs 7/10 - Never heard them before, they were good.

Dizzee Rascal 9/10 - How can you not enjoy it? Perfect festival act. Bonkers was insane!

The Libertines 8/10 - They actually put on a pretty good show.

Pendulum 9/10 - Insane. I'm willing to believe I missed out on Arcade Fire, but you guys missed out too!!!

Sunday:

Thrice 4/10 - Crap setlist, crap crowd. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

You Me At Six 2/10 - Got dragged to them and knew exactly what to expect. I still don't know why...

Limp Bizkit 9/10 - Nostalgia trip yes, but they were excellent. All the big ones. Rollin', Take a Look Around and Break Stuff were huge. The rest weren't bad either!

Cypress Hill 7/10 - Good setlist and enjoyed it even though I wasn't high.

Weezer 10/10 - There's a whole thread on this. I don't need to go into more detail.

Paramore 1/10 - Maybe this will serve as a lesson to Festival Republic about booking bands based on hype alone. Kinda like when someone dies and then a load of well overdue safety precautions come in. If that ever comes to pass then I'll consider that watching Paramore was for the greater good. But I'll never consider it anything even close to a subheadlining set.

Blink-182 10/10 - Everything I expected. And more. What a way to end the festival!

Friday

Rolo Tomassi: 6/10, meh, not into screamo much, decent vocal, just wasn't into it.

The Futureheads: 5/10, I saw Everything Everything at T In The Park so I went to the instead, wish I hadn't now, very dull

Yuck: 7/10, I'm very into this surf-pop scene right now, great set

The Gaslight Anthem: feels unfair to score them, I got there about 15 minutes in and just lay on the grass to watch them, sounded alright

Modest Mouse: 8/10, I've only heard 2 or 3 of their songs but they really won me over, was dancing along in the rain like a loyal

The Maccabees: 7/10, love this group, think they'd do much better in a tent with their kind of sound

The Cribs: 7/10, 5th time seeing them, love them to bits but their live act's starting to tire, what I'd give to see them play the kind of show they did last year at the Barrowlands again!

Dizzee Rascal: 6/10, not a fan, I'd been standing in the crowd since Modest Mouse waiting for The Libertines and AF so I stuck it out, his rapping's really impressive, I found the set a bit cringe-worthy though

The Libertines: 10/10, I don't care what anyone else thinks, this band mean so much to me, I had some sort of panic attack just before they came on from excitement and had to ask the guy next to me for a drink of his water, there were tears she during their set, absolutely amazing

Arcade Fire: 10/10, potential band of the weekend. it felt like a proper event, spell-binding performance and the crowd seemed to be made up of people who actually valued the band or were willing to give them a fair chance. felt like a really spiritual event.

Saturday

Kassidy: 7/10, saw them at T and they didn't impress me at all, I enjoyed them though, the FR stage is much smaller the than King Tut's tent, this probably worked to their advantage, lovely start to the day

The Joy Formidable: 3/10, expected a much better set from them, really dull, the lead singer's attempts at smashing her guitar up were pretty amusing though

Health: 10/10, wow, I was not expecting such a strong set, really intense, can't wait to see them supporting Crystal Castles now!

Holy f**k: 9/10, similar reaction to Health, I was blown away by how good they were

Wild Beasts: 7/10, sat down nearer the back for this one but I was soon up to dance/sway, really nice set

The Drums: 6/10, not so much a lacklustre set as this was the 4th time I've seen them since February, a case of too much too fast I'd say, Jonathon's moves and Jacob's leaping never gets old though, the look on the radio 1 crowd's faces when they never played Let's Go Surfing was priceless

Four Tet: 10/10; should have been MUCH higher billed in my opinion, an amazing and intense set, wish the crowd had gotten into it more

Cypress Hill: 8/10; great fun

Band Of Horses; again, I can't really say, I was just staking my place for Foals, everyone around me seemed really into it though

Foals: 8/10, amazing performance, great energy from them and the crowd, it's always nice to see such enthusiastic pits at a Foals show haha, wish they'd had a longer set though, I've still to hear Alabaster live..

Magnetic Man: 8/10, only caught the last half due to Foals, the tent was rammed, some of the tracks off the album sound incredible, I was showcasing some particularly awful moves at that point haha

Caribou: 10/10, really good set, the crowd was a bit unresponsive at the beginning but it seemed to perk up more in the last half, massive respect to the guy who was only 3 rows back but insisted on crowdsurfing twice

Roots Manuva: 8/10, I wasn't interested in any of the headliners for Saturday, I went to RM just to hear Witness, he blew me away, gthe bass was earth-shattering!

Sunday

Gaggle: 8/10, had heard 2 of their songs before, mostly went out of curiosity, they were completely captivating! something almost eerie about their sound, was great seeing more and more people flock to the tent, even if some of them only went because there was nothing else on yet

Frankie & The Heartsrtings: 5/10, never liked them, pretty uninspiring set

Surfer Blood: 7/10, wanted to see them for a long time, their UK shows have always been 18+, they were a lot of fun but it wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped, gutted they clashed with Harlem!

Funeral Party: 5/10, was expecting a much more LCD Soundsystem sound off the back of NYCmttsoLA, turned out to be a bit less exciting

Girls: 6/10, seen them before and it was much better, very dull set

Summer Camp: 7/10, great fun set, I was very chuffed to catch one of the kitkat chunky's they were throwing out as I was starving!

Pulled Apart By Horses: 8/10, never really listened to them, was very impressed

Egyptian Hip Hop: 9/10, really great intensity to their set, but dance-y too, it helped that the ginger one was very good-looking haha

Yeasayer: 9/10, I had loads of fun at their set, tracks off the first album sounded really amazing live, one of my highlights, and I've never been a huge fan!

Delphic: 9/10, never disliked them but always thought they were one of those typical two-or-three-good-songs-rest-is-filler buzz bands, their set had loads of energy though

Mumford & Sons: 3/10, honestly don't understand what people like about them, this is boring, faux-folk, I was scared if I left I wouldn't g

get back in for LCD, their success baffles me, wish I'd just gone to QOTSA

Phoenix: 7/10, I felt really guilty as I was about 3 rows from the front and I barely listen to them, great set though, nice warm-up for LCD, I kissed Thomas Mar's forehead when he walked along by the barrier

LCD Soundsystem: 9/10, amazing set, danced myself clean so to speak, North American Scum and some more of the new album would have been nice but hey-ho, would have been 10 if they'd come out for an encore!

Rolo Tomassi - 8.5/10 - Best I have seen them, played a good setlist and got the crowd going and a ridiculous wall of death for 12pm.

Futureheads - 6/10 - Sound wasn't great and I'm more of a casual fan but a fairly good afternoon festival band and the singalong for hounds of love was excellent

3oh!3 - 7/10 - Good fun. Live band made them better than last year. Sang along like a loser. Kind of wish I watched Gaslight.

Freelance Whales - 8/10 - Brilliant band, with an unfortunately tiny crowd - great setlist though.

Paint It Black - 4/10 - Very average music, wasn't impressed. vocals made it worse than average.

Gallows - 8/10 - Great performance, not quite as good as the past two years but gallows are always amazing live and the circle pit round the tent was a sight to see

Frank Turner - 9.5/10 - Fantastic - just a great festival act. The best artist to sing along to and new song sounded amazing and got a great reaction.

Serj Tankian - 7/10 - Playing with an orchestra was awesome, he was funny to watch. Set dragged a bit in the middle but was an interesting watch.

Cancer Bats - 8/10 - Good fun live, so loud. Good singalongs for sabotage and hail destroyer.

Enter Shikari - 6/10 - Poor setlist choice and terrible sound for a band who are normally so good live.

Arcade Fire - 8/10 - only knowing one or two songs I wasn't expecting much but was amazed by their performance. joy to watch.

Motion City Soundtrack - 7.5/10 - Good setlist and sound wasn't bad for early mainstage, but think the stage was a bit too big for them.

Kvelertak - 7.5/10 - Rocking and much better than king blues - threw everything into their performance, would watch again.

Thrice - 7/10 - Quite a subdued set but were still a good watch. once again though, not a main stage band.

All Time Low - 8.5/10 - Good fun and one my favourite bands (I'm ashamed to admit), great in the afternoon sun (kind of)

You Me At Six - 6.5/10 - Not as good as all time low, suffered poor sound and were nowhere near as good as last year.

Limp Bizkit - 9/10 - I felt 12 again and it was awesome. Entered my only pit of the weekend for break stuff!

Cypress Hill - 6/10 - Pretty good fun but not my cup of tea, banter was a bit poor.

Weezer - 10/10 - Absolutely flawless. Great singalong setlist - probably the best set I'v ever seen at a festival and one of my favourite ever sets i have seen.

Paramore - 5/10 - I was looking forward to paramore a lot, but sound was so poor we could barely hear them and we were pretty near the front.

Blink 182 - 9.5/10 - Band i was most looking forward to and they didnt disappoint. a few more old songs would have gone down well and tom should mess around with his vocals a bit less but they were still amazing!

Young Guns - 7.5/10 - Good early mainstage performance and can see this band getting even bigger.

A Day To Remember - 7/10 - Seen them a lot and good performance but sound was pretty poor.

Billy Talent - 7.5/10 - Better setlist than I expected considering I don't rate the new album, and singer had some great on stage banter.

Two Door Cinema Club - 8/10 - Sounded great and was very impressed - glad I checked them out.

Pulled Apart By Horses - 9/10 - Threw everything into their performance as ever. One of the best live bands around. Wish I caught the smashed guitar.

Lostprophets - 6.5/10 - Didn't really seem like they wanted to be there. Not a patch on 09.

Biffy Clyro - 9/10 - Seen them about 15 times and got what I expected from a festival. Jaggy Snake was awesome and it was good to see some OR tracks for the first time, like Shock Shock. Simon destroying the monitor was also pretty funny.

Mumford & Sons - 9/10 - Amazing crowd, great harmonies and a genuinely really talented bunch of guys.

Gaggle - 9/10 - One of the strangest live bands I have ever seen, but loved them.

Alkaline Trio - 6/10 - Sounded pretty good, but as a casual fan, didn't grab my attention on the songs I didn't know.

Overall, I'd say this year just edges it over last year, mainly due to having more "once in a life time" sort of acts and awesome company!

I really don't think i am.

The hundreds of peopel f**king off from there crowd would agree.

I'm sure it was nice for the fans to see them./ But for a non-fan, or a casual fine like me.... It was awkward, desparete and the weakest headline set possibly of all tiem.
