Liked Blink 182 and The Libertines.

Hated the wind ruining the sound for many of the day bands.

Thought Paramore were extremely quiet and had dreadful sound and thought playing for about 35 (40 at a push?) minutes 2nd from the top was a bit of a piss take.

Didn't think there was much atmosphere for the bands either really

The NME tent had an excellent atmosphere even when only half full (LCD soundsystem)

The new layout for the Main stage cuts out any of the old bottlenecking that you used to get so das is gud also ja.

The sound was a lot better this year than in previous years.

The only thing that let me down was the wasteful, destructive attitude of some other festival goers. Having been to other festivals that don't have fires and food thrown everywhere its easy to see that the festival just attracts these kinds of morons. In that respect, there isn't a mnassive amount the organisers can do about that.

Thumbs up to the organisers this year, Leeds just keeps getting better organised and better worked.

Had an amazing time for my first leeds experience.

Camped in white next to the water bit and it was a great laugh, didnt see any trouble at all.

Fav of the weekend was blink, arcade fire, and the libs. Sunshine Underground, Two door cinema club, and lights were all phenomenal.

Dissapointed with modest mouse (only for not playing float on tho ;)) Paramore (too quiet), biffy (for not playing anything off blackened sky or vertigo of bliss)

Thought mumford and sons were poor. Dont get me wrong they are phenominal at what they do but playing what is essentialy the same song over and over again just does not do it for me,

Cheers Leeds. See you next year B)

Personally, I thought the Festival Republic stage was amazing. Before Arcade Fire, me and my missus spent our time in there watching The Black Angels and they were fantastic. Credit where it's due to the rampant hardcore fans blowing kisses and stroking the security guards.

Saturday night we chilled out a bit more and decided to forget about the shitty line-up on the main stage and stay in the Festival Republic stage again to watch Caribou - f**king brilliant. Credit where it's due to the mad lad standing on his own next to me talking about the drummer for most of the show and then finishing by deciding to crowd surf - twice!

Guns N Roses though... awesome. Just brilliant. Credit to the mad Irish guy who got involved in a 2 man mosh pit with me.

Notable mentions go to most of the comedians in the Alternative tent, Health (second best band at the festival), Girls, Surfer Blood, Warpaint, Villagers, Band of Horses (who'll be on the main stage in 2 years - mark my words), Wild Beasts, Yeasayer and Funeral Party.

Hated most of the people at the festival (mostly a bunch of c**ts) but when the festival started, it was great.

Caribou were f**king astonishing.

I was at the front and there was this dude that came up to me and was talking to me about the drummer for the first half of the set, then when 'Odessa' came on he decided to use me to crowd surf. Security got him, all his money dropped out of his pockets, got chucked out and then he came back and did it again. Same thing happened, security got him, didn't see him again.

Saturday felt a lot more chilled out for some reason. I think it's because there weren't really that many clashes for us and we had ample amount of time to piss about between sets. We spent a lot of bloody time in the Festival Republic stage though.

Top 5 bands you saw over the weekend?

1. The Black Angels

2. Health

3. Caribou

4. Guns N Roses

5. Warpaint

(If I had the choice of 6, No. #6 would be Arcade Fire)

We didn't go into Lock Up at all. We briefly went in on the saturday to see Health (who were f**king amazing) but never Lock Up.

Overall, I loved Leeds but there were loads of w*nkers about. Got on alright with the punks, goths, metallers, the Irish and Scottish but most of the others were w*nkers. Tons of kids about too.

I think if I'd gone to Leeds 10 years ago I might have enjoyed it a lot more. It's an atmosphere that I think a lot of kids and w*nkers can enjoy but it's virtually impossible to chill out for if you want to try and get away from it for 10 minutes, and I would probably have enjoyed it if I was part of a group of people. But yeah the music was great and the positives outweighed the negatives - great festival.

If you happened to be in the alternative stage then you will know what I mean when I say Eve was a massive highlight of the weekend. Hahaha.

I loved Blink 182, I loved the drums, so crazy. I think for me most of the weekend was fun. I think it was a good experience for my first Leeds fest. The only part I didn't like was the fact that so many people kept walking past saying things like "what song did they do again" about quite a lot of the bands. Just bizarre.

Yeah, great festival music wise. Spot on nearly all of the bands I saw really impressed me, a few a bit boring at times. With a smaller group of us this year we managed to get around easier, yet a bigger group seems to be better as you do get more of a chance to interact and chill out out of the way of tents when theres nothing you want to see on. This year we went back to the tent a few times because of this fact where as in the last few years I've been in the arena all day.

Lots of Knobheads, or just really immature drunk people were getting on my nerves. Some people standing centre stage 6 rows back next to me talked all the way through Biffy's said, to say I was unimpressed was an understatement. Three drunk kids play fighting on next to me whilst I was enjoying the QOTSA set pissed me off to, I was near the back of the field to be honest, for once, so sorta my own fault. Unbelievable how drunk some people were on Sunday!!!

I was a little disappointed with the split toilets because there seemed to be far too many jammed full gents portaloo's on Sat which it was just not possible to do your business in. Strange because they were fine Thursday, Friday and Sunday, dunno what happened there like...

Yeah I only walked out of a few bands. I think Yeasayer was one of them but in retrospect I probably should have stayed.

The 2 things that pissed us off was during Girls when somebody threw a full cup of cider at the singer and it smashed on his monitor. Most of the crowd booed the c**t. Guns N Roses - we were about 5 'rows' from the front and we were surrounded by drunk, chav c**ts shouting "where's Slash?" and scousers talking about how much trouble they were going to start. We actually enjoyed their set more being on the outside than we did being closer.

When you were up close for GNR, you couldn't move whereas when you were stood right back you had some space to do what you wanted - in my case, mosh with myself hoping somebody would join in.

There were a lot of hecklers in the Alternative tent too but the comedians dealt with them swiftly.

definitely a great experience to finally go to an english festival...

but must say: was quite a cultural shock :) (i am english but have lived in germany for the past 20 years and only been to festivals here)

a few things/differences

1. the fairs/rides???? wtf :)? never seen anything like it at a festival before, please don´t take this offensively but do the english need something to keep them occupied so that they don´t beat the shit out of each other or drink too much?

2. the girls :) hotpants and wellies...and my girlfriend had at least 4 layers on and was freezing

3. organisation: great, very impressed, security as well. although a bit skinny a few of them, they´re mostly big muscly guys over here

4. the food!!! a festival where i can eat a giant yorkshire pudding!?!? dream come true!

5. the grounds...perfect. although i don´t want to know what it would have lloked like if it had rained for a day.

6. the crowd...never experienced a better one :) seriously, especially at mumford and sons...that was kind of...amazing and impressive.

7. dizzee rascal...you really like him don´t you :)

best bands:

libertines of course

arcade fire

mumford and sons

weezer

blink were nice to see

yeasayer

unfortunately missed the black angels...

great experience and will hope to repeat it again next year, but maybe V instead of leeds to see another festival

Had an absolutely brilliant festival.

Best bits.....male/female toilets - it was a lot easier for us ladies to go for a pee and there seemed to be loads of them so I didn't queue all weekend.

Worst bits.....idiots watching bands they don't like and shouting stuff at us because we happened to sing loudly

Best bands:

Guns N Roses - thought their set was fantastic and I lost what was left of my voice singing along to them and bouncing around near the back

Arcade Fire - got reasonably near the front and totally loved them - also really enjoyed singing along to the flaming lips before they came on :D (good main stage DJ!)

Weezer - totally fun from start to finish

Limp Bizkit - still have the bruises from this one - totally worth it :D

Cypress Hill - another good fun band :D

Want to get my tickets for next year now BUT after the hell of See tickets and only actually getting my festival tickets on the Tuesday before the fest I might just have to wait till March/April

Me and my missus are going to decide nearer the time what we're doing next year for festivals. At the minute it's a toss-up between Glastonbury and Latitude (if we can afford both we'll do both) but we'll probably only go back to Leeds if the bands are good - like, Soundgarden, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Sonic Youth good. Like I said in another thread, if we did decide to go back to Leeds then we'd probably stay outside the festival to avoid the w*nkers and not bother with an early bird.
