kids and camping essentials

first time to the EOTR and the first festival with the kids. Done a few festivals before the kids came along and we simply packed the essentials - pants, socks, wellies and alcohol.

We're leisure campers and have the gear - does everyone with kids take along all the sensible stuff like chairs, camping stoves, kettles etc or are we going to look like fish out of water? I assume you can take a gas stove, I know bbqs are out.

Don't want to look a camping anorak but let's face it - with children you need to be able to cater for them and do it with as much comfort as is possible!!

cheers

I've done EOTR a couple of times now with children (3), along with friends who are similarly encumbered... In short you won't look odd, whatever you may end up taking. And we know what happy children equals (yep...more relaxing mulled cider drinking).

You'd be doing well if you managed to take more than my brother. But we leave the stove at home, since I can't be bothered to carry it. Children generally happy with cereal/croissants. And my only major requirement in the morning is a decent coffee which you can get on site.

Enjoy.

We took our huge bear lake last year, and a table and chairs and a cooker. We never had any trouble finding our spot! Bear in mind it is quite a hike from the car park if you have loads of stuff.

This year it's just me and my mate………a couple of pop ups and that is more or less it. My first ever festival without wife or kids. I am slightly nervous.
