Well i'm 26 and sick of my job - fully qualified roofer / tiler (time served) shit money, shit boring job and i'm just not happy.

I've just passed my offshore course, and my MIST and got my riggers slingers course in a month, anyways back on subject - ive just been accpected at college to do a 2 year level 3 Btech diploma in electical and electronic engineering. Now i know NVQ is more hands on etc and Btech is much more classroom work.

Are they both the same qualification tho when you compare both of them at level 3? Which will employers favour?

any advice etc would be great guys

From what I understand thay are just looking at the Level of the course. A Btec Level 3 is worth the same as an NVQ Level 3.

However the difference will be when applying for work. If you have experience whilst at college that would but you ahead, assuming you get a decent grade.

My eldest has just got a DMM in Music Technology which can be classed as the equilalent of 3 B's at A'level which ain't too shabby. But from what I gather (he wants to be a Sound Engineer), good grades need to be mixed with experience.

So at the end of the day I would hazard that it does not matter if it is NVQ/BTEC Level 3 as long as you have a good result and fit the experience box.

That was no help at all was it??
