Possible Bands

What bands are releasing records between now and next years fest eg.strokes? As many of the bands on hear people have been speculating about for next year will not be about eg Kasabian.

well the original question was who is releasing new stuff between now and next year's festival, so the bands i listed will all have new stuff by then. i think if maccabees new album does well, they've got potential to be sub headliners below interpol for example. i also said either main stage and/or nme, so if im being specific, i'm thinking florence and death cab being on the indie strokes day on the main stage and maccabees and white lies on the nme.

and yeah, interpol headlining nme would be so good. got tickets for brixton in december, beyond excited

They were fine before him. and I think their best album (an opinion shared by few) is their album with Navaro. So i think they'll do fine without him.

Aye I watched it on tv and they weren't great. But every band has an off day, QOTSA for example poor in 08 was it? Then much better this time around. I'd love to see RHCP at Leeds Fest next year. The Strokes or RHCP and any band similar to Limp or Deftones, that'd be enough to get me back next year

They may have been 'fine' before him but when he joined they became outstanding. The man is a genius. It would be great if he came to Leeds & Reading as a solo artist.I'm not gonna hold my breath though. The Navarro album (One Hot Minute) is good but its no Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

Ive watched them 4 times and that last time at Leeds was by far and away the poorest. I think they played one song (Give it away) pre Californication. They just looked so toured out aswell. Musically its gone down hill for them lately and i think thats why John left. He's making much more interesting stuff on his solo records anyhow.

Chilis were turd in 99 as well. As much as I love their music from when they were at their best, I wouldn't like to be disappointed by them a third time.

I don't see any reason why Reading would go back to them so soon given the disappointing performances they've had previously and given how recently they've played. I'd expect them to end up at download or V.
