I would expect/hope to see at least one of them on the line up.

Is there still appeal for green day? Due to release a live album next year.

Foo fighters new allbum in the pipe line. Finished there first song for there new album

The strokes new album and coming off headlining isle of wight.

I think a festival is gonna snap up foo fighters, that's if they don't choose to do a stadium tour which they prob could end up doing. If they a gonna do a fest can only imagine it being either r/l, download or t. Who has the deepest pockets? They could be a massive exclusive or whore themselves out

There has been a topic on the efest glastonbury forums about heavy bands and glasto. How they don't get booked and why. Do you not think foos will fall into that "heavy" for glastonbury? Considering the likes of kylie, beyonce and take that been mentioned. Would be a varied line up U2, Kylie/Take that/Beyonce, Foo Fighters... can't see it happening as good as that would be. Still think R/L has a good chance of getting them if they don't do a stadium tour

Green day, foo's and strokes can be just as likely for TITP. I can imagine them trying to get those 3 bands as well.

As long as Foo's play I'm happy. Not sure about how strokes would go down at R&L, it seems like a bigger fest compared to IOW. They were amazing at IOW though, who knows.

i'm so cert on it being the 3 bands in the title of this thread. it fits in with the 3 types of headliner at reading. the older legend band (green day), the current big indie band (the strokes) and then the sort of current more rock type band (foos)

if its not at least 2 of them, i'll be very surprised. i'm a huge strokes fan so i'd be happy with those headliners, as long as it's other bands like interpol headlining nme tent on the day of the other 2

i wrote a big thing in that previous post explaining why i said current indie headliner knowing someone like you would say something about how they weren't current. they will be current once more when their new album comes out. it'll be great, and people who havent listened to them before i.e alot of the younger crowds that reading now attracts will listen to their back catalogue if they like the new album and realise they are extremely good.

and yeah, how is that dull? the loudness of the drums is so epic, and everyone is singing along. plus unless you were there, you can't really comment on it being dull because itv2 only showed the first 2 songs and reptilia in their coverage.

there is no way they would be a "shite" headliner. and there's you wanting soundgarden. f**k me.

The Strokes are hardly a current act are they? they peaked nearly 10 years ago now. I think they'd be a shite headliner. They're set at IOW seemed kinnda dull too. wouldn't mind them subbing, but i doubt they'd do it.

Strokes were the best band that weekend, so so so good. The video doesn't do them justice I reckon, ITV are bollocks. Take it or leave it, last nite and juicebox was f**king insane.

And you'd be suprised, there were A LOT of Strokes fans there. The screams at the start of every song, the huge encore, loud singing and how mental the crowd was.

They would definatly not be dull headliners........ and if Julians really drunk like he was @ IOW then it'll be really fun.
