Ex-Nazi, Kiddie Fiddling Apologist's Tour of Britain

Its not for washing with..... ;) This was standard issue to any priests who ordered it during the 60s and 70s... to aid entry

in to the hearts of children at Xmas time.

The balance of this thread I suppose is anti-catholic in that there aint many cathy-cats replying vociferously about blasphemy etc.

Personally, I dont like (or should i say I`m uncomfortable with) the Catholic ideal.

It seems to be forced upon children, maybe not so much now as when i was a kid... and when you do get old enough to make a rounded decision-- you are already loaded with bias and loyalty--prob to parents etc.

I married a catholic girl and got married in a catholic church, but refused to allow the kids to be brought up cathy-cat (she fully agreed).

My hypocisy (see, its spreading) is compounded by the fact that my kids now(2nd time round) attend a catholic school.

Said school, from what i have experienced locally, is much much better than any others.

Why is this? The kids? Staff? Parents?

When i had to do RE at school... O LORDY MAMA... it was just an excuse for the whole class to take the piss out of the somewhat soft Master.

It is very refreshing when the lads come home from school now telling of how they are learning about all the different religions. And doing it with interest.

If we claim to be the religiously tolerant nation that we generally claim to be--surely we should allow the Pope the same welcome as somebody like The Dali Llama.

Absolutely yes he should be given the same welcome as the Dalai Lama but he is being treated as a head of state, the former is not treated as such. I havent said he cant come i've said we shouldnt pay for it, and i've also disagreed with what he's said.

I might disagree with the Dalai Lama too in which case i would be as vociferous as i am now.
